Badminton Horse Trials 6th – 10th May

The World Famous Badminton Horse Trials will take place from Wednesday 6th May through to Sunday 10th May 2026.

Recognised internationally, this prestigious event is one of the foremost competitions in the sport of eventing, attracting elite riders from across the globe.

First established in 1949 by the 10th Duke of Beaufort, the Horse Trials has been hosted at Badminton for 76 years, building a long-standing tradition in international equestrian sport. Over the decades, it has become a cornerstone of four-day eventing, combining dressage, cross-country, and show jumping to test the skill, endurance, and partnership between horse and rider at the highest level.

Event Schedule

Wednesday: The opening day marks the start of the ticketed event, featuring over 500 trade stands, providing one of the best shopping experiences at any equestrian event. The International competition begins with the horse inspection in the afternoon, alongside the LeMieux Design Grassroots Championships.

Thursday & Friday: These days are dedicated to the dressage phase, where horse and rider demonstrate precision, discipline, and harmony.

Saturday: The highlight of the event is the cross-country phase, taking place on the world-famous course with challenging fences and exhilarating jumps.

Sunday: The competition concludes with the show jumping final and prize ceremony, bringing the four-day event to a thrilling close.
