Badminton Estate is a privately owned estate and home to the Duke and Duchess of Beaufort. This role will play an important part in broadening the reach of our commercial and promotional activities.

Job Description

As the Events Assistant, you will support the Event Manager in organising and managing the estate’s diverse commercial activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, corporate hospitality, private dinners, workshops, weddings, filming, and various outdoor events including our Open Garden Days plus events involving external organisers such as Tough Mudder or Bushcraft. You will also be integral in promoting Badminton’s event programme and facilities across the estate through various marketing channels and responding to enquiries. This role requires flexibility, with occasional evening and weekend work.

Event Delivery

To support the Event Manager in the delivery of events, including overseeing some events in the absence of the Event Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meeting rooms and event spaces across the estate to ensure they are ready for events.
  • Assist in coordinating with suppliers during selected events to ensure smooth operations.
  • Welcome guests, act as the primary point of contact, and address any enquiries.
  • Ensure the safety and security of guests and the site by adhering to Health and Safety Guidelines and Fire Procedures.
  • Collect feedback from guests to improve and refine future events.

Marketing

Support the Event Manager in promoting all events and tourism enterprises at Badminton Estate.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the WordPress website, overseeing website development and internet marketing.
  • Manage and post content to the estate’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), and respond to enquiries and comments as required.
  • List events on free listing sites and compile contacts for targeted email campaigns.
  • Create and manage mailing lists for specific groups (e.g., weddings, corporate) to grow the business
  • Coordinate with the Event Manager on promotional print production and advertising, including designing and printing high-quality leaflets, adverts, flyers, brochures, and online materials.
  • Organise and manage the estate’s image library, distributing images as necessary.
  • Arrange promotional signage for events.

Administrative

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and efficiently to enquiries and bookings to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Follow up on potential leads to maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers through effective communication.
  • Carry out any other related duties as required by the Event Manager.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Experience in a customer facing role, ideally in events and hospitality.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent communication abilities (in person, via email, and telephone)
  • Highly proficient in I.T including use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with effective social media marketing.
  • Familiarity with WordPress is preferred but not essential.
  • First aid qualification is advantageous; however, training will be provided.
  • Must possess a valid clean driving licence and own car for conducting estate tours.
  • Positive, friendly, and professional demeanour.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.

Additional Information

  • We are looking for a talented individual to join our team in a role that can be flexible to suit either part-time or full-time working hours, depending on the candidate. The successful applicant will need to be able to work a minimum of 3 days per week.
  • Reporting to the Event Manager on a day-to-day basis and the Land Agent from time to time.
  • Hours of work normally 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, with occasional additional hours on evenings and weekends required, for which time off in lieu will be given.
  • Circa £26,000 gross per annum depending on experience, subject to normal deductions for Tax and National Insurance.
