BBC Period Drama The Other Bennet Sister Filmed at Badminton Estate

Badminton House and Gardens has recently featured in the new BBC period drama adaptation The Other Bennet Sister, now available on BBC iPlayer.

The historic Badminton Estate were chosen to represent Pemberley House, the iconic home of Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. With its Grade I-listed Georgian architecture and sweeping grounds, Badminton provided an ideal setting for the drama’s elegant and authentic period scenes.

About the other bennet sister

The BBC adaptation is based on Janice Hadlow’s 2020 novel, which offers a fresh take on Jane Austen’s classic story. Focusing on the often-overlooked middle sister, Mary Bennet, the series explores her personal journey, her struggles with family expectations, and her quest for independence. It provides a unique perspective on the familiar world of Pride and Prejudice, shining a light on the sister whose voice is usually unheard.
