Netflix’s Agatha Christie’s The Seven Dials Filmed at Badminton Estate

Badminton House features in Netflix’s forthcoming Agatha Christie adaptation, The Seven Dials Mystery, which will premiere globally on 15 January 2026.

Located in the heart of South Gloucestershire, Badminton Estate was selected as one of the production’s key filming locations, with Badminton House itself playing a central role. The Grade I listed Georgian country house was transformed into an elegant 1920s country estate during the summer of 2024, providing the perfect setting for one of Agatha Christie’s classic murder mysteries.

About The Seven Dials Mystery

First published in 1929, The Seven Dials Mystery is set within the world of English high society and unfolds during a weekend house party that takes a sinister turn. In the Netflix adaptation, Badminton House stands in for Chimneys, the country estate where the novel’s infamous murder takes place. The house is used extensively throughout the series, including the opening party scenes that establish the intrigue and tension of the story.

The Filming Process

Filming took place over three and a half weeks, during which the production made full use of Badminton’s historic interiors and extensive grounds. Scenes were filmed across the house and gardens, carefully dressed to reflect the glamour and atmosphere of the 1920s.

The key filming locations included:
  • North Front of the House
  • Ballroom
  • East Room and Staircase
  • East Front gardens and conservatories
  • South Gardens
  • Swangrove Rides and Woods

Cast and Production

Several members of the cast were filmed on location at Badminton Estate, including Helena Bonham Carter, Mia McKenna-Bruce, Corey Mylchreest, Edward Bluemel and Alex Macqueen. Notably, Helena Bonham Carter was filmed in the conservatories, surrounded by Badminton’s signature Millfield Gem pelargoniums, while a key moment involving Mia McKenna-Bruce was filmed in the South Gardens.

This production marks the fourth major Netflix series to be filmed at Badminton Estate, following Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story and The Gentlemen. The continued use of the estate reflects its versatility as a filming location and its ability to authentically represent historic settings on screen.

Visiting Badminton Estate

Badminton Estate remains a private residence and is not open to the public on a daily basis. However, visitors are able to experience parts of the estate during Open Garden Days on the 27th April, 14th June and 6th September, when guests can view the exterior of Badminton House, the South Gardens, East Front Gardens and the conservatories — offering a rare opportunity to see where scenes from The Seven Dials Mystery were filmed.
