Badminton Estate Celebrates the Opening of Village Shop and Pub

Badminton Shop & The Fox & Hounds Acton Turville.

Over the past two weeks, Badminton Estate has proudly opened two much-loved community venues Badminton Stores and The Fox & Hounds in Acton Turville. These important local spaces play a vital role in supporting rural communities in both Badminton and Acton Turville.

As an estate, we are committed to protecting these valued rural enterprises and by supporting local businesses and services, we aim to create thriving rural communities where people can live, work, learn and play.

The Fox & Hounds Reopens in Acton Turville

At the beginning of April, we celebrated taking on the ownership and management of The Fox & Hounds, a historic village pub at the heart of Acton Turville. The occasion was marked by the Duke of Beaufort, who poured the first pint and welcomed staff, residents, and visitors.

Village pubs like The Fox & Hounds are essential to rural life. More than just places to eat and drink, they serve as social hubs where communities come together. From celebrations to everyday gatherings, these spaces help build connections and strengthen local identity.

The newly reopened pub continues its tradition of warmth and hospitality, offering a selection of local beers, quality drinks, and a locally sourced menu.

Badminton Stores Returns to the High Street

On Friday 9th April, we also marked the reopening of Badminton Stores on Badminton High Street. The return of this village shop is a significant moment for the community, restoring a convenient and familiar service that residents have greatly missed.

The Duke and Duchess of Beaufort joined staff and members of the local community to celebrate the occasion. The strong turnout on opening day highlighted just how important the shop is to village life.

Badminton Stores has been designed to offer more than just everyday essentials. It provides a welcoming space where neighbours can meet, connect, and feel part of a thriving community.

Now open to the public seven days a week (Monday to Sunday 8:30am – 5:00pm), Badminton Stores offers a range of locally sourced produce and essential goods. Visitors can also enjoy fresh coffee, sandwiches, cakes, and more, creating a welcoming space for both residents and those passing through the village.  We are also dog friendly!

Supporting the Future of Rural Communities

These investments in community services are part of Badminton Estate’s long-term 15-year vision to enable rural communities and businesses to flourish. By restoring and creating community spaces, we are supporting everyday rural life and playing a key part in rural regeneration.
