Father’s Day: Whisky Tasting with Distilled Events
Whether you are a seasoned enthusiast or new to the wonderful world of single malt Scotch whisky, this very special tasting at Badminton House is one not to be missed.
As our guest during the evening, you will enjoy six classic single malt whiskies, representing a range of flavour profiles from different regions in Scotland. The drams will be served with paired foods such as Scottish smoked salmon, cured meats and beautifully paired cheeses.

David Wood has worked with whisky for more than 30 years and has worked at iconic distilleries on the West Coast of Scotland. Describing himself as ‘the luckiest whisky enthusiast in the world’, David became Distillery Manager of Caol Ila Distillery on the remote and wild Hebridean Isle of Islay, where he lived and worked for many years.
Beginning his whisky journey in the early 1990s when he joined a national whisky retailing company, David quickly fell in love with the world of Scotch. Along with his wife Leonie, David soon owned a wine merchants in the Peak District National Park. He began exploring the world of whisky, and he was eventually introduced to Caol Ila single malt whisky from the Isle of Islay in the Hebrides. He fell in love with Caol Ila and Islay and began arranging whisky holidays for his customers to this magical island.
In the early 2000s, David launched his own single malt whisky and single cask single malt whiskies, and not long after was offered a dream job at Lagavulin Distillery. The Wood family moved to Islay, and once Leonie began to work at the then-new Kilchoman Distillery, they became a distilling family.
After only a few months, David became Distillery Manager at Caol Ila Distillery, the biggest and one of the most iconic distilleries in Scotland, a dream come true for a whisky enthusiast.
David now spends his time hosting events and talking about the subject that he loves, spreading the Scotch whisky word around the world
